I made a website for learning Chinese. There are many already, but I think there is always room for new entries into the Chinese language learning ecosystem. The Site: - Course is an online version of the HSK course books (HSK 1-2 done so far, 3-4 coming soon) including all the vocabulary, texts, and all the content/activities from the coursebook and workbooks. - SRS Flashcards - SRS Sentence speaking - Character writing tool (Stroke data is from MakeMeAHanzi) - Dictionary is from the MBDG Chinese Dictionary - I build it using Rails and StimulusJS (with AI help) - Uses a lot of TurboFrames/TurboStreams to make it interactive - Goal is to be mobile friendly and responsive. - I got AdSense approval so it will be a completely free ad supported website. AI: - I use AI to build the site, transcribe the course, enhance the images, transcribe speech, generate audio, and for some minor supplemental content and formatting. - 99%+ of the course and content is not AI generated and is from the HSK

I'm 28 years old, and to be honest, I haven’t done much with my life so far. Recently, I stumbled across programming and cybersecurity online, and the positive aspects of both fields really caught my attention. I’ve always been patient with solving problems, and I actually enjoy figuring things out. It gives me a sense of accomplishment. I'm also fairly tech-savvy, and for the first time in a while, I feel like I might have found something I could be genuinely good at. The thing is, I’m not in a position to go to college or attend any formal institution. I’ve seen stories about people learning online and breaking into tech, but I’ve also read a lot of negative takes. Even graduates sometimes struggle to land jobs. So I’m genuinely curious: if I commit to learning and work really hard, do I realistically have a chance to turn my life around and get into programming or cybersecurity without a degree? I often encounter negative reactions in online communities, such as downvotes, being mistaken for a troll, and being misunderstood constantly. It also happens in person, although to a lesser extent, since I can rely on my body language and close friends to help convey my message, as they probably know me so well to infer my meaning from my, I guess, strange communication pattern. Weirdly, on the other hand, when it comes to explaining something I get complimented on how clear I make it (cue the comment "you could make a child understand quantum physics"). The negativity I face online, though, has led me to withdraw from participating in these communities, opting instead to lurk. The toll it takes on my mental health is significant, which also makes me worried about the reactions I might receive here, but I chose to post on HN because I believe it to be one of the most tolerant online communities, so I'll bite the bullet for what may well be the last time. All in all, I'm at a crossroad

Hi HN, I'm Rosa, a massage therapist for over 30 years. I noticed my clients felt relaxed after a massage, but their stress and muscle tension always came back. A one-hour massage isn't always enough to combat a long workweek. I saw that people needed info on how to take care of their bodies between appointments, not just treatment. That's why we built MASSAGE BY ROSA – a wellness platform to meet this need. Here’s what we offer: It’s a two-part deal: -Massage Therapy: Hands-on therapy for pain relief – based on methods from South Florida. -Online Body Therapy Courses: This is what I want to share. I turned my knowledge into video courses teaching self-massage, workstation adjustments, and ways to release tension. It’s like having a therapist help you stay well. The Tech: We’re keeping it basic with a static site for course content and subscriptions, which lets us focus on making great video lessons. We're launching this to solve the problem of upkeep in physical wellness. It's for peo
